I loved jaywalking in NYC as a tiny way to stick it to the man and then they went and made it legal last year! My life of petty crime ended before it could truly begin and now I’m in need of another small law to regularly break.

Apparently it’s illegal to carry ice cream cones in one’s back pocket on Sundays, so if you hear a crunch when I sit down in public, please mind your business.

lol NYC should amend that law to what it's always functionally been, which is "only tourists have to obey jaywalking laws."

I love your stuff for a really kinda dark reason: I can feel pretty actively targeted as a broke-ish woman with a trans partner, and your shit always reminds me that the man is after all of us. Selfishly, it's incredibly comforting. So, thanks? (*chokes on awkward laughter*)

I mean, to be fair, you ARE being actively targeted much more than I am. And Midwesterners are a lot more vulnerable than us blue state east coasters. But I think anyone who has read ANY history about autocracy or civilizational collapse knows that it's terrible for literally everyone. This sort of upheaval is chaotic, and while it disproportionately harms marginalized people, it also takes out people almost at random. The white dudes who are supporting this awful fascist regime are not immune to being consumed by it. Not that it should matter: if your political opinions only rest on what immediately effects you then you're a morally stunted shithead. But regardless! I'm really glad it's comforting!
