Hey, Matt! Thanks for this informational and entertaining post! Completely off topic, but could you possibly recommend a book that helps people learn how to communicate (specifically feelings in a marriage)? I’m looking for one that isn’t billed as how to avoid fighting necessarily, but just how to speak about one’s feelings like a brown up.

Unfortunately, I don't really have a background in that topic, so my answer comes from therapy or direct experience rather than any books or knowledge. I do know that Brene Brown does a lot of great work on understanding and processing emotions, and I got a lot better understanding of emotional regulation and communication as relates to parenting through Michaeleen Doucleff's "Hunt, Gather Parent." Also, my therapist taught me about "Family Alignment Meetings (FAM)" which is when you sit down like, once a week or so and go through 1) Successes the family has had 2) Support you need, 3) Goals for the coming week, and 4) Gratitude you're feeling to your partner/family.
